Tires are the perfecting breeding habitat for the mosquito species that can transmit Zika, dengue, yellow fever, chikungunya, and even dog heartworm. Tires left outside soon fill-up with rainwater that is difficult to remove or slow to evaporate. This creates the perfect mosquito breeding environment!
What do I do with old car tires?
You can place two regular car tires (with rims) per week with your regular household garbage. Larger tires need to be taken to the Resource Recovery Facility in Buckingham for disposal.
