Mosquito-Borne Disease Response Plans
Mosquito-borne diseases are those spread by the bite of an infected mosquito. Lee County Mosquito Control District (LCMCD) has entomologists on staff that work with Florida Department of Health (FDOH) and Florida Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services (FDACS) to monitor the threat of a mosquito-borne disease. This close relationship, along with our disease surveillance program, allows us to detect and respond quickly to any arbovirus activity to minimize the risk of human infections throughout Lee County. Our Mosquito -Borne Disease Response Plan allows LCMCD to respond proactively to any suspected activity.
