The Florida Department of Health in Lee County has issued an advisory due to an increase in mosquito-borne disease activity around Lee County. Several sentinel chickens tested positive for West Nile Virus. Risk of transmission to humans has increased. The Department is working with LCMCD to monitor activity & prevent spread. Please remember to use preventative measures, such as using CDC approved repellents and covering exposed skin, when mosquitoes are most active. Florida Department of Health Press Release
